Nice little course. Lots of fun. The course offers a lighted driving range with a grass hitting area, chipping green, practice bunker and practice putting green. Great place to practice your short game. $10-12 per round.

Best Suited To: Beginners and players of all skill levels who want to work on their short game.
Course Condition: Played the course at the beginning of July 2009. Dry and HOT has been the forecast and condition for a long time. Course conditions were surprisingly good, considering the weather situation. The greens are hard and fast as expected. A little rain and watering will help this situation.
The course presents a few challenges. A few holes have water in play or in front of the green. The 18th hole is priceless. There are 4 large oak trees between you and the green. I got a real kick out of this hole. Most of the course is open, then all of a sudden, 95 yards over the trees. What a blast!
The course will give your short game a workout. Beginners will really enjoy the layout. Something for everyone. I thouroughly enjoyed the afternoon. I played it on a Thursday, so not too many people out. Once we got closer to 5 p.m. several groups showed up, friends after work meeting for a short round. Eveyone seemed to be having a good time. Those that I spoke with said they come out often and find the course to be a lot of fun.
Melrose Park is normally a lit course. They are open until 10 p.m. Some of the lights are being worked on by the city, so evening play is a bit sketchy. Call Jim for an update before going out to play at night.
Staff: Jim Walton runs the course. Very friendly and helpful.
Liked the Least: No real complaints. A couple of the holes have missing yardage markers on the tee boxes, but other than that, eveything is fine.
Liked the Most: Fun course. Liked the surprise on Hole #18.
Overall Experience and Value: Monday through Thursday, play 18 holes for $10. Other than that, $12. Great place to relax and have fun with friends and family. Friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed the experience.
